About me
- 🌍 Expat life — I’ve basically never stayed put. Lived in Turkey, Canada, US, Germany, Colombia… and wandered through 40+ countries.
- 🎓 Education — Spent my 20s in Vancouver and Victoria. Got a degree in Computer Science and Economics. Two majors, still no idea how to fix my Wi-Fi.
- 🚀 Early career — Worked in Canadian tech startups. Burned out fast. Moved to Colombia in 2011 to reset (and for better coffee).
- 🦉 Hootsuite — Back to Vancouver in 2014. Led an engineering team at the city’s biggest startup. Learned a lot, worked a lot, partied a lot. Not in that order.
- 🏝 Playa del Carmen — In 2016 I moved to Mexico to chase my own ideas. Then Amazon called. I wasn’t interested in big tech… but I also wasn’t about to hang up on Bezos.
- 👣 Amazon interviews — Did phone screens in flip flops with a margarita in hand. Then they flew me to Seattle for an all-day interrogation. Brutal.
- 💼 Amazon Seattle — The offer was too good to refuse. Suddenly I was Sr. Product Manager for a $50–100M ARR subscription product, herding 20+ teams. With zero PM experience. Fake it till you make it.
- 🧠 Amazon Berlin — In 2018, I joined the Core Machine Learning team. Built ML platforms at massive scale. Finally got back to the technical side.
- 🌴 San Diego — When Covid hit, I moved again. San Diego became my favorite city in North America. Sunshine, tacos, and surf — unbeatable combo.
- 🎒 New chapter — End of 2024: quit Amazon, sold almost everything, and left for SE Asia with one backpack. Minimalist packing list: laptop, passport, ambition.
- 🔑 Turning point — It hit me quick: I was done with employment. There’s no Ctrl+Z for that realization.
- 🤝 Entrepreneurship — Mid-2025, bought a business with a friend. That’s what I’m building now. Stay tuned — this part of the story is still being written.
